History
The Schools International Athletic Board (SIAB) was established in 1948 to promote friendly international athletics competition among school-age athletes from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
Created through cooperation between the four home nations' schools athletics organisations, SIAB provides talented young athletes with an opportunity to compete at international level while developing sporting excellence, teamwork and friendship.
The annual SIAB Track and Field Championships remain the organisation's flagship event, alongside cross-country and combined events competitions introduced over time. Many athletes who have competed in SIAB events have progressed to successful senior international careers, including Olympic and World Championship representation.
